According to the news, Samsung has already sold around 500,000 units of Galaxy Fold worldwide. Companies like Motorola and Huawei have also launched their foldable phones in the market. while the Brands ready to show the Galaxy Fold and Mate X to the successor in 2020. OnePlus and Vivo are also expected to showcase foldable smartphones next year. Xiaomi could be the next player to launch a foldable smartphone in the ring.   • Samsung Galaxy Fold 2

In 2020, Samsung may launch its second foldable smartphone. The second one also is known as Galaxy Fold 2. Samsung has already launched its Galaxy Fold in India. Its successor will be taller / longer, but will not fold like the book, instead, it is said to sport a clamshell folding display. The second major change will be in the display quality. To replace the transparent polyimide (PI) film, it is said to include an Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) as the protective layer. It is being used on the Galaxy Fold nowadays. It is the same plastic film that was originally mistaken by critics for a screen protector, and its removal caused Samsung problems. Reports suggest that instead of having a large screen, Samsung is focusing more on portability. For now, the proposed screen sizes could be 6.7-inch and 8.1-inch. The next Galaxy Fold will not be unveiled until March with Moto Razr-like concept.


  • Motorola Razr

Motorola recently unveiled a clamshell design of its new Motorola Razr folding phone. The company claimed it had solved most of Samsung's problems with its Galaxy Fold handset. More digging, Motorola claims to have used sliding plates to ensure the display's durability. It has two displays – the outer one is a Quick View display of 2.7 inches whereas the inner one is an OLED screen of 6.2 inches with an aspect ratio of 21:9. There are also two cameras. One 16-megapixel sensor is above the Quick View screen, while the other 5-megapixel sensor is on the larger display inside a notch. A Snapdragon 710 SoC is the processor used. The foldable Motorola Razr phone comes with a $1,500 price tag (about Rs 107,000). The smartphone was scheduled to open on December 26, 2019, but later, due to high demand, Motorola postponed the date. It is planned that in 2020 Motorola will release its latest foldable Razr phone.
