WhatsApp is going to launch status ads soon; are you going to stop using the app?

Last year, WhatsApp released a bunch of popular features for its users, it looks like 2020 will be an even more eventful year for the most popular instant messaging app in the world. Status Advertising is one of the most talked-about apps that will be released this year by the Facebook-owned site. Yeah, that's correct you read WhatsApp will soon join the club after Facebook, Instagram, and the litany of ads on your feeds across these apps. However, WhatsApp announced its intention to launch' Status Advertisements' early at the 2019 Facebook Marketing Summit (FMC) in the Netherlands.

WhatsApp had revealed that it would soon be launching' Status Advertising.' WhatsApp said users will be able to recognize the advertiser's name along with their corresponding advertising in these' Status Ads.' WhatsApp has not yet revealed when the' Status Ads ' feature will start rolling out. For both iOS and Android devices, the' Status Advertising ' feature will be available when it finally goes live though. Nonetheless, it will be fascinating to see whether the display picture of a WhatsApp user and how much of the user's profile data, if any, is seen by the advertisers, already under fire due to privacy concerns.

Users will have to swipe up to visit the page of the advertised product or service, quite similar to how Instagram Stories works the same thing. WhatsApp Ads, like Instagram ads on Instagram Stories, will be integrated into your WhatsApp status. Your WhatsApp Status shows photos, videos, texts and other multimedia files that you may upload to share with your contacts. WhatsApp ads are going to work in the same way. However, only the name of the advertiser and a quick glimpse of the ad will be displayed on your WhatsApp status. Users will have to swipe up to see the full commercial. WhatsApp will provide users with advertisements based on their interests and behavior.
